Well hello there

by Lauren on January 29, 2012

Hi! I’m Lauren. This blog is a work in progress, so bear with me. I’m still learning how to customize everything here!

I’m a Southern girl who lives in Charlotte, NC with my handsome hubby Robbie and beautiful 2-year-old daughter Willa Anne. I love all things creative – such as home decoration, cooking, fashion and art – but I also work full time and I’m an MBA student, so living well and organization is near and dear to my heart, too.

I’m always striving to live a more lovely life – whether that’s creating a warm and happy home for my family, learning new things, creating delicious meals, surrounding myself with beautiful and meaningful things, or looking for ways to be more organized and on top of things so I can enjoy life more fully.

I grew up in sunny Florida, but always knew I wouldn’t create my own life there. I went to the College of Charleston, where I was a Kappa Delta, majored in International Business and History, studied abroad in Germany, and enjoyed living, studying, eating and shopping in downtown Charleston! After college, I moved to New York City for a few years, which was an experience I’ll never forget. New York has a piece of my heart, and I sometimes wonder if I’d ever like to live there again.

When my husband and I got engaged, we moved to Charlotte – which was a compromise between my beloved New York and my husband’s native Charleston. It took me a while, but I slowly warmed to Charlotte, and while we have now built a life here, it’s probably not our “forever” city. We were married in August 2008 in Charleston, and planning our wedding was one of my favorite creative projects so far.

At this stage in my life, juggling multiple roles is the name of the game. Between my job at a consulting firm and MBA classes, it can sometimes be hard to be the best wife and mom I can be. Luckily, Willa Anne attends a fantastic preschool and I have a helpful husband!

I have a penchance for cute toddler clothes, all things British, organization tips, party planning, peonies and hydrangeas, oysters, polka dots, good design and a tall glass of champagne.

This blog is my way to capture my life – not the big events that are so readily memorable, but the small things that make each day my own. Welcome!
